Friends and Diaspora
Over the years, St Michael’s Mount Dinham has drawn to itself a diverse group of sometimes extraordinary people with a wide range of religious and other views. St Michael’s has been well-known for its faithful preservation of Anglo-Catholic ritual through liturgy and music, for an atmosphere both festive and reverential and for heart warming celebrations and events.
Throughout the year, special Feast Days, services and events draw together members of the wider St Michael’s community. Although the Church technically has no geographical parish of its own, and sits within the geographical parish of St David’s, this means that the diaspora of friends of St Michael’s is a wide and diverse community.
Our community includes congregation and choir, Mount Dinham residents and members of the local community, friends and supporters both locally and from further afield, plus partners and associate organisations. See our Neighbours and Partners page for more information.
St Michael’s arms reach from from Exeter and the surrounding area, across the South West region, to other parts of the United Kingdom and even across the globe.
This “diaspora of friends” is also much more even than those who are able to join us in person onsite. Thanks to the digital age and new ways of connecting through the pandemic, the St Michael’s diaspora has been able to keep in touch with streamed services, activity and discussions online. Many join regular worship through the live streaming of services, including and perhaps unique to St Michael’s, the broadcasting of the evening service of Vespers, offered at 6:00 pm every Tuesday and Thursday via Facebook.
Through a common heartfelt association with St Michael’s Mount Dinham, you will find a warm welcome, a community spirit and the love of God for everyone, whether our connection is new or very long standing.
