Exeter Chorale, conducted by Dr Nigel Browne (organist at St Michael’s), present an exciting programme of 17th Century Christmas music from Venice and Saxony. The polychoral motets in the first half were all composed around 1600.

Heinrich Schütz – Christmas Story (Weihnachtshistorie)
with guest soloist Tony Yates and accompanied by South West Camerata
This piece was first performed in Dresden in 1660.
For this recital, it will be sung in English, for narrative effect.
The Concert will also be performed in St Margaret’s Church, Topsham, on Wednesday 17 December at 7.30pm.
Exeter Chorale is a chamber choir and always looking to recruit new voices.
The choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 7.30-9.15pm at St Michael’s, Mount Dinham.
Rehearsals for our Summer Concert will resume in February.
