In Normal Years…

As we start the journey of Holy Week with Jesus and his Disciples, there is the traditional Blessing and Procession of Palms, singing “All Glory, Laud & Honour” and “Ride on, ride on in Majesty” around Mount Dinham, weather permitting. Then the long Passion Gospel this year according to Matthew is sung dramatically, with different voices as Evangelist, High Priest, Pilate, Judas, Jesus and the crowd.

In 2019, Hymns: 509: 86: 439. Setting: Mass in the Dorian Mode, Tallis. Motet: Ave Verum, Byrd.

In 2018 we sang the Plainsong Propers of the Day, hymn “My song is love unknown”, a simple Mass Setting by Upton, and motet “Hosanna to the Son of David” by Weelkes. Organist was Nigel Browne.

In 2017 we sang Mass i the Phrygian Mode by Charles Wood, and “Hosanna to the Son of David” by Weelkes.
