All welcome. Please follow Covid-aware precautions. I look from afar, and lo!
Sunday 5th December at 6pm.
The Advent Procession is on Sunday 5th December at 6pm. Prayers, Readings, Hymns, Carols and Candles illuminate the plainsong Great O Antiphons, which we also hear in the Advent Hymn “O come, O come Emmanuel”, and culminate in a choral setting of the Magnificat. The final hymn is “Lo, he comes with clouds descending.” Please join us for this special Candlelit Service of darkness & light, mystery & beauty.
Lo! He comes in clouds descending.
This Service takes place on the 2nd Sunday of Advent to avoid clashing with the Cathedral’s similar Service on Advent Sunday.
Depending on Covid conditions – There may be Seasonal Refreshments of mulled wine & mince pies after the Service.
In 2017 we welcomed Erika Wagstaff as Conductor and Simon Dunbavand as Organist to lead this beautiful Service.
