Thursday 15 August at St Mary’s Church, Mary Tavy, Tavistock, PL19 9PE. 7.30pm (I assume, check nearer) Sung Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven, celebrated byh Fr Steven Martin with St Michael’s Choir.Sermon by Canon Chris Palmer.

We sing Byrd 4-part Mass,  PArcadelt “Ave Maria Gratia plena” and Congregational Hymns etc..

The important Feast of the Assumption (or Dormition, Falling Asleep, as the Orthodox term it) is kept on 15th August.

With Fr Steven Martin we will celebrate this Feast at the beautiful Church of St Mary, Mary Tavy on the edge of Dartmoor. Choir Practice before, Sung Mass at 7.30pm (I assume).

Visitors are most welcome. Whatever your view of the physical Assumption (or not) of Mary to reign as Queen of Heaven, this is an ancient and beautiful Feast to celebrate together .
