September 13th-14th, Heritage Open Days 2014

Join us at St Michael’s for the annual celebration of England’s fantastic architecture and culture for the national Heritage Open Days.
All are warmly welcome to visit and view this Victorian Gothic gem. The Church will be open on Saturday 13th from 9am-12pm  and 3pm-6pm, and on Sunday 14th from 9am-6pm.

Saturday 13th September

Our new Pipe Organ will be demonstrated by Dr Nigel Browne and supervised “have a go” sessions will be available.

Explore our Heritage Exhibition
Light refreshments will be available

5.30pm Compline or Vespers may be sung to conclude the day.

Sunday 14th September

10am Hear the Choir rehearsing with our new pipe organ
10.45am Solemn High Mass will be sung
Music : Setting – Missa “L’hora passa”, Viadana
Anthem : Crux Fidelis, John IV of Portugal, words by Venantius Fortunatus AD570. ["Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen", (How lovely are Thy Dwellings), Brahms.]

2pm Guided Tour of Mount Dinham and the Church by architectural historian and Chapel Warden, Richard W Parker

5.30pm Compline or Vespers for Holy Cross Day may be sung to conclude the day
