Theology and Climate Change: Is there a Link and is it Helpful?

Hosted by: St Michael's Lectures - Revd Dr Susan Durber

St Michael’s Lecture, 7.30 pm, Wednesday 24th September, by Revd Dr Susan Durber, Theology Advisor for Christian Aid.

Some have criticised Western theology for seeing our role in creation as one of domination or even exploitation. Are there alternative ways of seeing our being in creation and could it make it difference, even now? And what can theology and faith do to sustain us through a time of climate change in the global community?

Revd Dr Susan Durber is Theology Advisor for Christian Aid and a United Reformed Church minister. She has also recently been elected as Moderator of the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches. She has served pastorates in Manchester, Salford and Oxford, and was Principal of Westminster College, Cambridge until the summer of 2013. Her publications include “Preaching like a Woman” and “Surprised by Grace: Parables and Prayers”. She now lives in Taunton.

Everyone is warmly welcomed to the St Michael’s Lectures and admission is FREE (with a voluntary retiring collection). They are followed by discussion and light refreshments. For further information, or to discuss disabled access, contact David Beadle at dnb201@ex.ac.uk
