People

People: Sung services at St Michael’s are currently supported by a number of organists and conductors, who are also variously composers, arrangers and recitalists: Peter Allsop, Nigel Browne, Matt Clark, Neil Page and Richard Stephens. St Michael’s currently has a vacancy for a Director of Music.

Associates: St Michael’s also welcomes associate musicians for special services and events, who enrich the music and worship for the congregation and augment the continuing professional development of the choir. In the past year, these have included Lay Clerks, soloists and conductors Michael Graham, Matthew Jeffrey and Joe Ward, and Exeter Cathedral’s Director of Music, Timothy Noon.

Patrons: The Dean and Chapter of Exeter Cathedral is the patron of St. Michael & All Angels Mount Dinham.

Facilities: The original choir stalls within the Chancel hold between 24 and 32 singers. The capacity for orchestras is around 60 musicians in the Crossing and Chancel combined. The nave is insured for up to 200 audience for concerts and more for services. The Victorian pipe organ is maintained by Lance Foy and a grand piano in the Crossing is tuned every 6 months by Graham Sharland.
